POSITION OBJECTIVE: KSL’s TV Engineering is pleased to announce the availability of a paid internship for Summer 2020. We are looking for students who are interested in a paid learning opportunity where they can extend their hands on broadcasting engineering education beyond the classroom. Experiences can include all facets of TV Broadcast Engineering; basics of Broadcast Engineering including cables and connectors, wire management, signal flow, and production techniques; post production engineering trouble shooting video editing systems, graphics production, and high end work stations; project management skills, task management, documentation, and budgeting.
PURPOSE: The KSL TV Engineering Internship is designed to provide students with a strong interest in the technology and systems that support TV Broadcasting an opportunity to gain an insight into the operation of professional news production.
Needs to be working toward a degree at a university, college, community college or vocational-technical institute, looking for a career change, or looking to re-enter the workforce after an extended absence.
Prefer someone working towards a degree in Engineering or a STEM field or equivalent. Applicant needs to be in good academic standing if enrolled in a university or college.
Organized, able to meet deadlines and be a self-starter. Proven ability to be precise and accurate.
Good communication and conversational skills to transmit information clearly and efficiently.
Demonstrated technical ability.
Proven ability to handle stress.
Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Work effectively in a team environment.
Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, vendors and clients.
Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
Other duties as assigned
Final discretion as to assignments while participating in the internship program will remain with KSL.
Persons participating in the KSL Engineering internship need to understand that no guarantees are given for future employment. KSL may terminate internship at any time.
Final selection of a KSL intern from among those expressing interest rests with KSL.
The internship will cover a semester/term period of approximately twenty (20) hours per week up to 150 hours per term, with a schedule to be arranged by the intern and the hiring manager.
