POSITION OVERVIEW & DUTIES

This position requires a hard-working, organized, self-motivated and flexible Production Assistant who is interested in media production (TV, Video and Radio) and research.

This multifaceted position offers a diverse range of responsibilities and requires a person who seeks a challenging job that will always present new projects (some that are currently unforeseen) and opportunities to grow.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with an ability to take on new projects and run with them.

Candidate should have impeccable communication and interpersonal skills, ability to speak to senior management and external contacts and business executives.

Candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced competitive environment.
Flexibility to work overtime if necessary.

Hours are 8:00am-4:00pm during regular business days. Longer days during production, radio records and busy times.

TV & VIDEO

The Production Assistant will be involved in all aspects of production for our public television show. They will also assist with producing video content for social media, marketing purposes and for our online cooking school.

Responsibilities will include:

Organizing set arrangements, props and wardrobe in pre-production
Coordinating shoot schedules with crew, kitchen and talent
Managing mailings and communications for station relations including toolkits for each season
Assisting on set during all shoots
Assisting with script writing and research

RADIO

The Production Assistant will be involved in all aspects of production for our public radio show and podcast. Responsibilities will include:

Researching interview and story topics in-depth
Assisting with day-to-day production needs, including scheduling and pre-interviewing guests; scheduling and coordinating studio time and tape syncs; and distributing and archiving photo permissions
Contributing and pitching new ideas
Responsibilities may also include writing scripts and editing interviews

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet many deadlines and keep up with fast-paced production schedules
Ability to manage up
Ability to think independently and contribute ideas
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to interact with all personality types and levels of management
Strong computer skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in audio and/or video editing software a plus

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree
Experience and/or education in media, TV and/or radio production
Interest in culinary arts/food a plus
