Lisbon, Portugal, 3 November 2025: The inauguration of Empresa de Meios Audiovisuais’ (EMAV’s) first virtual studio in Lisbon marks a major technological milestone for the Portuguese audio and video media sector. At the heart of this achievement is VANTeC, responsible for the complete system integration that powers the facility. Featuring a 25 x 5-metre 1.9 mm pitch LED wall and an 8 x 5-metre 3.9 mm pitch LED ceiling, powered by Alfalite LED panels, this new virtual studio positions EMAV among the most advanced virtual production facilities in Europe, prepared for the present and future of content creation.
VANTeC played a decisive role in the design, integration and commissioning of the entire system, ensuring a robust, reliable and scalable solution capable of meeting the demanding standards of film, television and commercial production on an international scale. Drawing on extensive experience in complex broadcast and audiovisual integration projects, and in collaboration with technology partners Alfalite and Pixotope, VANTeC delivered an infrastructure that combines high technical quality, creative flexibility and operational efficiency.
“With the implementation of this project, EMAV is now better then ever prepared to face the present and future challenges of content production, both for the internal needs of the Media Capital Group and for the wider market,” says Miguel Oliveira, Managing Director, VANTeC. “We have a solid track record of innovation in audiovisual and broadcast systems integration as a trusted partner in the Iberian market. Our role in creating EMAV’s virtual studio highlights our ability to lead high-complexity projects and deliver solutions that blend technology, efficiency and forward-thinking design. The launch of this studio marks a major step forward for EMAV and the Media Capital Group. It also opens a new chapter in the international recognition of Portuguese engineering – with VANTeC at the forefront of next-generation audiovisual integration.”
The project was conceived as a strategic collaboration between EMAV, VANTeC and their international technology partners, aiming to provide the Portuguese market with a virtual production facility on par with Europe’s leading studios. This synergy of engineering expertise, creativity and strategic vision strengthens EMAV’s position as a technological benchmark, reinforcing Media Capital Group’s commitment to innovation and technical excellence.
“This virtual studio is more than just a technological investment – it is a commitment to the future of Portugal’s audiovisual industry, with a global outlook,” summarises Nuno Mendonça, Technical Director, EMAV.
