Ventuz Supports Full Graphics 4K Workflows With AJA Corvid 88

Munich, September 15th 2014

Software developer Ventuz Technology announced today that Ventuz will be one of the first real-time graphics tools in the market to offer real-time 4K/UHD graphic workflows using the new AJA Corvid 88 multi-format video I/O board.

The wide adoption of 4K and Ultra HD (UHD) resolutions in the industry is pushing the capabilities of both hardware and software systems, especially in demanding applications such as real-time graphics. The Ventuz software suite has always offered resolution independent content production to broadcast and presentation markets, and it was among the first systems to support 4K/UHD real time on-air graphics. As the market continuously requests higher resolutions and better quality, Ventuz is always on the lookout for new and more advanced video I/O hardware to cope with such demands. AJA has a great reputation as one of the most advanced and reliable video hardware manufacturers in the market, so for Ventuz AJA is an obvious partner.

AJA’s Corvid 88 is an 8-lane PCIe Express Gen2.0 card, ideally suited for applications that require multiple simultaneous input and output streams. Each of Corvid 88’s eight 3G-SDI connections can be set programmatically as either an input or output and each can support a different video format. It also supports High Frame Rates (HFR) of up to 50p or 60p for the most demanding 4K and UHD workflows, making it the perfect solution for real-time graphics applications like Ventuz.

“Ventuz has established a tradition of integrating cutting-edge video technology over the years, with our customers always demanding higher resolutions and frame rates to create astounding graphic projects. Collaborating with a market leader like AJA was a natural step forward”, commented David Paniego, Product Marketing Manager at Ventuz. “I’m thrilled that we are among the first companies to offer such an advanced solution for a complete 4K/UHD real-time graphics pipeline, including synchronized fill and key signals, relying on state of the art technology like AJA’s Corvid 88.”

“We released Corvid 88 specifically for development partners that are creating compelling 4K and UHD tools, like Ventuz,” said Nick Rashby, president, AJA Video Systems. “We’re excited that they’re able to extend their solution to offer a real time graphics pipeline in 4K and UHD with Corvid 88 delivering the video I/O.”

Ventuz 4K/UHD systems with AJA Corvid 88 support will be available during Q3 of 2014.
