Amsterdam, March 31, 2014 – Sierra Automated Systems, (“SAS”) radio solutions provider since 1988 and VidiGo launch for the first time at NAB 2014 their integrated Visual Radio Solution. The solution enables easy integration of the SAS range of broadcast console controls and VidiGo’s Visual Radio software.
Visual radio is about creating professional TV from a radio studio without interfering with the true radio culture. The audio is still leading and no additional staff is needed to turn good radio into good TV. VidiGo’s Visual Radio is a fully automated IT based solution. Including fully automated camera switching based on audio analysis.
To enrich radio shows, all available data in the studio is used to create compelling TV. Video clips are synchronized with the audio signal. Dynamic graphics like logos and titles are inserted via xml commands sent by the radio scheduler. A whole range of content like traffic & weather information, RSS feeds, Skype calls and social media can be added to the visual radio experience.
“VidiGo Visual Radio is the next step in radio. People listen to radio on their computer, tablets and mobile phones. These users expect a dynamic visual show, not only audio. We see a lot of new business models arising where radio stations monetize on visual radio. We are convinced that visual radio is the only way to go for radio broadcasters.” – Commented Al Salci, Vice-President Sierra Automated Systems.
VidiGo launched Visual Radio in 2011 at IBC in Amsterdam. In the last few years VidiGo has become market leader in Visual Radio solutions in Europe and is now expanding to Asia, Australia, Russia and the USA. At NAB 2014 VidiGo will demonstrate Visual Radio at booth SL12105, but also at SAS, booth C1330.
“We are very pleased to collaborate with such a professional partner as SAS, which has its core business in radio. We also have a background in radio, so we understand how important it is to understand the real culture of radio. To turn good radio into compelling TV you need to have a good understanding of the radio culture.” – Reinout Lempers, CCO VidiGo.
Mutual partner Key Code Media, brought the two companies together. Mike Cavanagh, Key Code Media : “Key Code Media’s focus is to provide differentiated, value solutions for our clients. The integration between VidiGo Visual Radio and SAS means that we can offer our clients a complete workflow, from radio automation to creating a visual radio experience.”
