Broadcast Solutions delivers a set of four Streamline S8 OB Vans to NEP for the production of the German ice hockey league
Broadcast Solutions GmbH hands over four new Streamline S8 OB vehicles to NEP Germany. The set consists of three identical HD OB Vans and one 4K OB Van, all based on the Streamline S8 model. All production vehicles are realized with a self-propelled truck and are suitable for up to 8 camera productions. The main goal for NEP is the production of the German ice hockey league.
With the handover of the last OB Van, Broadcast Solutions GmbH completed another major contract for the German division of TV service provider NEP. The project involved the planning and production of a total of four OB Vans of the Streamline S8 model variant. Broadcast Solutions realized three of the four vehicles as identical HD OBs, with another OB Van being supplied as a 4K variant. The innovative space concept incorporates a storage compartment in the rear of the car, which can accommodate the complete camera equipment as well as tripods and cables, thus eliminating the need for an additional support van.
The identical type of the vans to NEP Germany reduces costs on purchase as well as in daily operation. The technology in all four vehicles is identical, thus making the workflows in productions simplified and production setups can be stored and loaded across the vehicles, and the staff quickly feels at home in the OB Vans. As a result NEP can minimize setup times and save training costs. For the teams, the various OB vehicles are always similar in their basic design. With frequently changing locations and similar productions, this concept offers decisive advantages towards other suppliers on the market.
Christer Pålsson, CEO at NEP Germany, comments on the decision for the four S8 OB Vans: “It was crucial for us to obtain identical production units when ordering the four S8 OB Vans that fit perfectly as workhorses in everyday use. They are easy to use, work absolutely reliably and – with the 4K model – we can handle high-class UHD productions quick and cost-effective. Due to the long-term collaboration with Broadcast Solutions, we can always be sure that price, performance and technology are absolutely right. ”
The Streamline OB Van family consists of modular, pre-configured OB Vans, which can be delivered quickly and with significant cost advantages. By implementing the Streamline vehicles, Broadcast Solutions has lifted the construction of OB Vans to a new level – from intricate custom-made items, to an OB Van as an “off-the-shelf” product. Nevertheless the concept is so flexible that it can be adapted to the customer’s individual requirements. Expansion capabilities with UHD technology have already been integrated into the basic design and thought of – so Broadcast Solutions has already delivered several 4K versions of their Streamline OB Vans in 2016. The possibility to build fully 4K-capable OB Vans with innovative concepts and short delivery times once again proves the sophisticated concept of the product Streamline OB Vans.
