Limecraft Introduces Update 2026.1, Adding Greater Control, Compatibility and Scale

Ghent, Belgium, 3 February 2026 – Limecraft today announced the release of Limecraft 2026.1, the first platform update of the year. Limecraft is an AI-powered production platform that enables content creators to store, manage and share projects, from initial rushes to thousands of masters, easily and securely. Limecraft workspaces can be customised quickly and easily for specific formats such as scripted TV, documentaries and non-scripted entertainment, with fit for purpose AI services at the core.

Building on eight consecutive releases throughout 2025, this update continues Limecraft’s focus on reducing operational friction in professional media workflows through stronger interoperability, improved control, and foundations for greater scale.

Limecraft 2026.1 consolidates core platform components that are critical for teams working across production, post-production and delivery. The release introduces broader format support in Limecraft Edge, meaningful enhancements to Delivery Workspaces, and early progress on more granular resource management for customers on an Enterprise plan.

Limecraft Edge is the bridge between the physical world and the cloud. Limecraft 2026.1 adds improved support for Apple iPhone recordings by ensuring reliable audio handling and metadata interpretation, reducing the need for manual transcoding when ingesting smartphone footage. Native support for DNxHR LB is also introduced, aligning Limecraft Edge more closely with Avid-centric editorial proxy workflows and enabling faster ingest, improved playback performance and reduced storage overhead.

Delivery Workspaces, Limecraft’s structured environment for managing complex content exchanges between producers, broadcasters and third-party service providers, also receives a targeted enhancement. With Limecraft 2026.1, key events within Delivery Workspaces can now trigger notifications, ensuring stakeholders are informed of status changes, review outcomes and progress on outstanding deliverables in real-time without needing to rely on external tracking tools or manual follow-up. This further strengthens Delivery Workspaces as a shared auditable system for use across the supply chain.

Alongside these generally available improvements, Limecraft 2026.1 marks an important milestone for Enterprise customers through a private beta of enhanced resource management. The introduction of separate accounting for audio and video usage provides more accurate insight into platform consumption, fairer alignment between usage and cost, and improved forecasting for large or long-running projects. A general release of this capability is planned for Limecraft 2026.2.

“Limecraft 2026.1 is about strengthening the foundations,” said Dieter Van Rijsselbergen, CTO at Limecraft. “By improving compatibility, visibility and control across ingest and delivery, we enable producers to operate with greater confidence today while preparing the platform for more advanced automation and AI-driven workflows later this year.”

Limecraft 2026.1 is available as of 3 February 2026. The full release notes and additional details are available on the Limecraft website: www.limecraft.com/limecraft-2026-1-more-control-compatibility-and-scale/
