Nilesat Chooses PlayBox Neo Solutions for Large-Scale Service Expansion

PlayBox Neo announces an expansion of the broadcast channel management and playout infrastructure at the Cairo headquarters of Nilesat, one of the largest telecommunication networks in the Middle East. The project was supported by PlayBox Neo distribution partner Modern Broadcast Center (MBC).

“This is an addition to the 40 PlayBox Neo Channel-in-a-Box playout units we purchased in Q1 2019, elevating the total number to 70,” says Maissa Aly Kamel, Nilesat Chief Technical Officer. “The seamless operations and reliability of the systems continue to enhance our productivity.”

“The success of our Channel-in-a-Box solution stems from the great flexibility which it offers television channel managers and network operators, combined with its inherent space efficiency and ease of maintenance,” adds Pavlin Rahnev, PlayBox Neo Chief Executive Officer.

“We integrated 30 complete servers into the Nilesat teleport at Giza near the Egyptian capital,” details Nikolay Spasov, PlayBox Neo Head of Technical Department. “We delivered two 4K-UHD CIAB servers plus 13 HD/SD playout units, all with 1:1 redundancy.”

“We are delighted to collaborate once again with PlayBox Neo on this significant expansion at Nilesat, one of our key partners in the Middle East,” comments Sabri Arafa, Modern Broadcast Center CEO. “This project underscores our commitment to providing state-of-the-art broadcast solutions that enhance the efficiency and reach of our clients’ operations.”
