Jump, a B2B communications agency that provides bespoke PR, marketing and creative services to technology companies across the media and entertainment industry, has announced that it has received the Climate-Positive Website Accreditation for its company website.
This accreditation recognises Jump’s digital sustainability by taking measures to reduce the carbon footprint of its website and to maintain a low carbon threshold. It’s imperative that business owners don’t neglect the carbon footprint of their websites and digital platforms while working towards a cleaner greener internet.
Victoria Orford, Marketing and Creative Strategist, Jump says, “Everyone at Jump is thrilled to receive the EFWA Climate-Positive Website Accreditation and we’re proud that our website is accredited as Climate-Positive as we take responsibility for our digital presence.”
The coming years will be a critical time for the state of the planet and human wellbeing and every action matters in our journey towards net zero. While the focus has been on transportation, roads and buildings, internet emissions, which are responsible for nearly four percent of global carbon emissions and use 10 percent of the world’s electricity, the majority of which comes from fossil fuels, are flying under the radar. Websites are a significant contributor to this consumption. More worryingly, internet’s carbon emissions are set to double in a few years.
