Northampton, MA October 15, 2014 – Myers, a respected developer in broadcast management software, is pleased to announce that KTOO-TV has selected Myers’ ProTrack Broadcast Management System to manage its television operations and full-time cable and satellite television channel, 360 North, which beams live C-Span-style legislative coverage throughout the state. KTOO is Juneau, Alaska’s leading public media provider, serving southeast Alaska for nearly 40 years. ProTrack will provide greater operational efficiency for KTOO as well as the scalability necessary for future growth.
The decision to implement Myers moves KTOO from what was a manual process to a new dynamic scheduling environment to manage and track programming. Furthermore, KTOO will leverage ProTrack’s ability to direct master control services and devices to drive workflow. Managing such devices and integrations in the workflow enables stations such as KTOO, to create enhanced efficiencies, contributing to increased revenue and profitability.
“By employing our ProTrack broadcast management system at KTOO to store, track, schedule and repurpose their program metadata,” explains Crist Myers, CEO and President, Myers, “they are enabled to make best use of valuable program assets and repurpose schedule metadata across station platforms.”
“We are pleased to be working with a partner that can take our workflow to the next level,” said KTOO’s President and General Manager, Bill Legere. “We’re looking forward to ProTrack streamlining station operations, keeping our limited staff resources focused on necessary tasks rather than duplicative processes.”
The implementation of Myers’ ProTrack at KTOO creates efficiencies for current collaboration opportunities between KTOO and sister station KAKM and allows for further growth in that direction.

Launched in 1977 as a television production unit to provide daily Legislative coverage, KTOO-TV signed on the air as a fledgling PBS station on October 1, 1978. By 1983, the TV station was broadcasting on low-power translators through Southeast Alaska. Today, KTOO provides a variety of public services throughout Alaska. In addition to providing the Alaska Public Television program service to Southeast Alaska, KTOO-TV operates a full-time cable and satellite television channel, 360 North, which beams live C-Span style legislative coverage throughout the state (Gavel to Gavel Alaska). The channel expanded in 2007 to provide a wide variety of Alaska programming on a year-round basis. KTOO Productions assists a range of government, agency and non-profit clients with audio and video production and program distribution services.
