2019 #NABShow 4K 4Charity Fun Run!

The 4K 4Chariy Fun Run is becoming one of the  most “off the beaten path” networking events at the 2019 #NABShow. Sweating and networking at the same time, while supporting a great cause,  is pretty much the primary goal in this 2.49-mile run looping around Sunset Park at 7:30AM on Tuesday, April 9. The 100% tax deductible registration fee benefits Girls Who Code.

Girls Who Code is leading efforts to close the gender gap in the areas of the computer technical science field. This amazing concept to actuality began six years ago and has reached 90,000 girls in all 50 states. All of the their college-aged alumni have majored in 15 times the national average in the computer science professional. This fast growing occupation in the US economy is expected to grow by half million by the year 2026! The overall initiative for Girls Who Code will be to continue to attract K-12 girls to help close the gender gap in tech. Studies are showing that several states across the country are launching more and more computer science classes in high schools, however, there are not too many girls showing an interest in classes, if they have not receive exposure to the instruction from an earlier age. Girls Who Code is focused on the research that supports the concept, that if girls are surrounded by women in computer sciences at an earlier age, they will be able to break the barriers of a male dominant career path.

4K 4Charity Fun Run: The 4K 4Charity Fun Run is a 4km (2.49-mile) run and walk event held in conjunction with the 2019 NAB Show in Las Vegas. This unique event offers show attendees a healthy alternative to traditional networking, while raising much needed funding for diversity and inclusion initiatives.
