Soliton H.265 mobile encoders enable coverage of the July 2018 Mexican Presidential Elections

Soliton H.265 mobile encoders recently provided a comprehensive live broadcasting solution during the 2018 Mexican Presidential Elections.  Offering robust live video contribution over 3G/4G networks, a deployment of Zao and Zao-S encoders transmitted live coverage back to Soliton’s HDView receiving platform for live video distribution.  The Soliton mobile encoders expanded coverage opportunities for remote journalists, enabling flawless live streaming of content and results in real time.

Punto TI, a specialist in IP video solutions located in Mexico City provided on-site professional services and supported local broadcasters for continuous live elections coverage.  Soliton encoders were in operation continuously for several hours daily leading up to the election as a part of regular news coverage.  The ability to stream live high-quality HD video and simultaneously report from multiple locations around Mexico City provided a distinct operational advantage.

Soliton’s proven performance in challenging bandwidth conditions, cost effectiveness, and portability made it ideal for this project.  “At important events such as this Presidential election, broadcasters must expand their resources for mobile live streaming capabilities,” said Robert Houghtaling.  “Soliton’s live broadcasting solution temporarily installed with robust H.265 mobile transmitters offers journalists a powerful tool to reliably stream engaging and high-quality broadcast content.”

The miniature Zao-S H.265 hardware encoder is capable of streaming Full HD Video at 2-5 Mbps with three SIM cards throughout Mexico and Latin America.  Punto TI is the Soliton systems integrator in Mexico since 2016 and has field-tested the equipment in variety of challenging operations throughout the country.  Chivas FC the Mexican professional football club based in Guadalajara, Jalisco recently acquired a Zao-S encoder after a successful proof of concept in the Arena Mexico and in the players tunnel that leads to the locker rooms in the Chivas Stadium.

Leading broadcasters in Mexico, and worldwide are depending on Soliton’s live mobile H.265 video transmission solutions.  Soliton together with Palma Technology in the U.S.A., Punto TI in Mexico, and Foccus Digital in Brazil have provided live broadcast solutions and coverage for major international events including the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games, NBA Finals, U.S. Presidential Elections and 2018 FIFA World Cup.
